‘Digital Photography Step-By-Step’ by Jerry Glenwright
‘Digital Photography Step-By-Step’ was written by Jerry Glenwright. The book contains 176 pages and was published in May 2008. If you are interested in digital photography or are in the process of moving from film to digital, this is a great book to read. The author has done a great job of taking the mystery out of digital photography so that anyone can understand how to take great shots.
The book has been designed so that even the most inexperienced photographer will be able to pick it up and learn the skills they need. There are many technical terms, like pixilation and resolution that can confuse amateur photographers, but the book translates them into plain, layman’s English, which will make life much easier for anyone new to photography.
The author begins by explaining the absolute basics, such as the proper way to hold a camera. Gradually, however, the concepts covered in the book become more complex and readers will eventually learn when to use a particular shutter speed and how to overcome the challenges posed by both indoor and outdoor shooting. Towards the end of the book the author has included a number of advanced techniques that will challenge the reader even further.
One really positive feature of book is that it takes into account both MAC and PC users. There is a great deal of processing that can be done on digital images and as this is inevitably done on a computer, using a variety of software packages, this book will appeal to a wider audience.
